Why Nigerians do not watch Nollywood Movies

Going to the Cinemas to see movies is a very common way of relaxation in Nigeria especially in cities like Lagos, Abuja, Port- Harcourt and Calabar. But then , it is sad to note that Home Made Nollywood Movies have not benefited from the influx of people at the cinemas. Who would want to have a romantic  break with your boo and choose to watch a boring, low - budgeted and over- hyped Nollywood movie when there are lots of Super- hero Hollywood Block buster ,Bollywood Love- thriller and Telemundo series to watch at home to see.

This Should be a major worry to our movie makers and so therefore ,after thorough research we have highlighted some reasons we think people do not watch Nollywood Movies. these reasons are not far - fetched. they are as follows :

1. The Story line

Not just anybody can just write a movie; it is an art. and not all stories would make a good movie. Many Nigerians are of the view that the moment you watch the first ten scenes of a Nollywood movie, you can script the ending. this shows lack of imaginative  prowess on the part of the movie writers. people want to be in caught up in suspense and want to never be able to tell what is about to happen in the next scene  of a movie. that is the beauty of story- telling.
